Payout and Changes!

Hello Speakerheart Artists! This past Monday (June 2nd) we finished our Artist Payout for the month of May- thanks to you (and your great fans!) last month was close to our highest payout to-date. If you sold some tracks you should've received some moola in your PayPal account- please don't spend all your hard-earned cash in one place, please. We'll be getting detailed sales reports out within the next day or so- keep an eye on that inbox. We appreciate you!

As for other important/stimulating/note-worthy news...

We want to let you know about some recent changes around here! We are re-integrating Speakerheart into our parent company, PassAlong Networks, to make better use of the development, product, account management, QA and customer service teams already in place.

We are also working to integrate the Speakerheart catalog with PassAlong's already-extensive music catalog. In the future, this will enable a Speakerheart artist with both independent releases and a back catalog distributed through a major channel to have one integrated offering instead of needing both a PassAlong Storeblocks store and a Speakerheart store. This means that your content may also be offered in many of the 233 digital stores PassAlong powers, including f.y.e., Home Made Simple (Procter & Gamble) and many others.

There are other exciting projects in the works, too. In the future, your music may be available for download to a car, at a digital media center kiosk in the local drugstore or to a home media center, all through integrating the Speakerheart catalog with PassAlong.

This reintegration means we've reduced the Speakerheart stand-alone team. Jozef Nuyens and Brad Edmonson remain on the PassAlong Board of Directors, but there will be some new faces working on Speakerheart's day-to-day operations. You can also continue to contact David Condos (davidc@speakerheart.com) or Sammy Ward (sammy@speakerheart.com) with any questions.

We look forward to continuing to serve you!

Speakerheart Artists on CMT's "Can You Duet"

M_ed98b6b7a803d1b1b153429c7fa63abb

Remember The Song Trust and their holiday hit "Bring Him Home Santa?" Well, the co-writer of that tune, Rory Feek, and his wife Joey Martin have taken to the small screen on CMT's latest American Idol-ish contest, Can You Duet.

The wedded duo perform against other country acts to see who has what it takes to work together and make it to the top. See it for yourself every Friday night at 8/7c on CMT.

And to learn more about Rory and Joey, check out their Myspace which links to their official Website and Joey's Speakerheart storefront where you can purchase her album, Strong Enough To Cry. But Joey isn't the only one in the family with a record out. Catch up with Rory and his My Ol' Man album available at Speakerheart.

And if you haven't heard the Christmas song that topped everyone's list last year, take a listen to "Bring Him Home Santa" and expect even more seasonal songs from Rory and the gang this coming Christmas.

Friend them on MySpace, encourage the duo throughout the show and get ready for some country crooning!

March 2008 payments completed

It is April Fools Day, as I have been the victim today but we did get Artists payments and reports out today! No fooling.

I had the chance to hear auGust and David Ramirez at Christopher's on Thursday night.  You can check them out on Speakerheart.  We are excited to see the state of Texas being well represented here in Nashville.

On Friday, April 11, Canadian duo, Keith and Renee will be in town playing an acoustic set at the Frisky Berry.  If you are in Nashville, come on down.

SXSW Pictures

It was a successful weekend at SXSW!

We saw some great shows, met and had interviews with a few killer bands and even stood 10 feet from Willie Nelson! You just can't beat that.

And now that all the bands have packed up and 6th Street returns to its normal routine, it's time for us to share our experiences with you.

Here's a couple shots from our Saturday at After the Jump Fest. If you want to see more from the bands that day, check out our Flickr account: www.flicker.com/photos/speakerheart.

Deep in the heart of Texas

We at Speakerheart have been asked to help sponsor one of the many great parties going down at South By Southwest (SXSW) this year. After The Jump, an independent music blogging community, along with Indie Outlaw and Paper Garden Records have put together a killer line-up of Indie artists for this event.

If you’re hanging around SXSW it’s definitely worth dropping by on Saturday to hear these great acts. We’ve got Morning State, LoveLikeFire, The Answering Machine, Darla Farmer, The Pendletons and Peasant with Cloud Cult rounding them all out.

After The Jump Fest will be held at the Lucky Lounge on Saturday, March 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It’s an open party, so if you happen to be in Austin for the festival come on by. We’d love to meet you!

Exclusives, exclusives

Hey friends!

I just wanted to tell you about all the great exclusives we've been getting here at Speakerheart.

Lately we've been joining up with artists around Nashville to help promote their newest albums before they release to the world.

So far we've partnered up with The Worsties for Put Your Babe On and Red White Blue for their self-titled album.

It's great being able to promote our artists in these kinds of deals and we'd love too keep on keepin' on. So if you're one of our artists and are interested in doing an exclusive release with us, shoot us an email at info@speakerheart.com.

We'll see what we can do to put your name in front of the masses.
