The Boys Have It Going On

Hey all!

So, we want to keep you posted on all the great new music that's coming in to  Speakerheartâ„¢.  Lately there's been a rush of male musicians throwing their tunes in the mix.

I can't highlight them all, but here are a few of the standouts:

Nathan Angelo- This Southern crooner will steal your heart with ballads like "Ode to Her" and "Someday Soon" and then take you down the not-so-happy side of love with his "Love Sucks" tale.

Chris Nathan
- Soulful rock is the name of the game for this Nashville native. Check out "Words" and "Happy" on his Words album.

lukedot: It's all about honesty for lukedot on his albums A: letters & personal writings and B: Oh! to our love, dearest. So get real and take a listen.

Tyler and Kyle: This duo is sure to catch your attention with their addictive melodies and powerful guitar hooks.  Pay close attention to "What's Left of Me" and "Superbadd."

Hope you enjoy these guys and stay tuned for more updates!

Deals Deals Deal, Variable pricing for artists

We have heard a lot about different variable pricing initiatives.  Is anything working? I am not sure  but artists and lables are definately experiementing within their Speakerheart accounts.

Royal Ruckus recently priced their compilation 10 year anniversary album for $2.10.  Of the 11 tracks, 9 are album only, 1 is .99 cents and one is free.   The free one rotates every day.

Gene Louis is putting up a new track every week this year.

Josh Doyle keeps experimenting with a number of free tracks.

The Christmas compilation Big Beard brought lots of downloads and introduction to a number of Speakerheart artists.  Look for a Valentine's Day tribute coming up too.

A number of 1 song releases like the hardcore screamo from The 16th Effort.  Multiple price points like rapper Stax Brix.  And the ever popular all songs free from The Stateside Menace.

Nathan Angelo show and upcoming week

We were hoping to post some tracks from The Editors live show here last night but we could not work out the final details with the band's management.  Maybe next time we will have more lead time and can nail it down.  That freed me up last night to hear Nathan Angelo.  How fortunate I was as he put on a great show.  The mostly college crowd seemed well versed in his music and kept the energy level up.

Audrey told me after the show that he is loading his tracks up Monday into Speakerheart.  So check him out after Monday.  Maybe he will come to a town near you.  Next week looks busy for us as we have a number of Spring initiatives that we should be nailing down.  Talented singer songwriter, Anthony Skinner is stopping by.  We will probably put out a press release on the Sheila E and C.O.E.D. contest and music on Tuesday afternoon.

Futureman and the Black Mozart Ensemble travel to India

Zach Casebolt with BME got on my case for not promoting their Indian tour recently.  He is actually on his way back to the states today.  They had a very successful series of performances in Bangalore and Puttaparthi.  The Black Mozart Ensemble is composed of young virtuoso violinists, cellists and bassists under the direction of Futureman. The music is complemented by the addition of hip hop artists, dancers and actors/narrators.

BME conducted performances and workshops with Sathya Sai Baba, a highly revered spiritual leader in India.

We should have at least one LIVE performance up on the BME Speakerheart page soon!  For now check out www.speakerheart.com/futureman

International music

The last couple of weeks have brought an increased international presence within Speakerheart.

Vince from The Netherlands has loaded his album Everything.  His experimental brewed pop is wide ranging.  I was hoping for this type of effort from American Idol runner up Blake Lewis.  There is some music for your house party, some Prince like lyrics especially on Fruit and some cool experimental sounds on upcomingstorms and universe.  Check Vince out.

Johnny Blomgren from Stockholm has his offering Love Songs on Bass.  Funk for Astrid is a short jam.  The three song album is priced for $1 so definately worth checking out.

I am looking forward to hearing more from Circumambient.  The English group has one song up, a so called "rough demo."  Let's go, get some more stuff up.  :)  Cheers.
